Mission Awareness Trip
A visit to BBM's missions will give you the opportunity to:
- meet and interact directly with the children, the families and the elderly we serve
- you will witness firsthand the social and economic realities of their daily existence so you
will have a better understanding of the challenges they need to overcome
- you will experience first hand how your work as a short term mission volunteer directly
impacts their lives and their future by helping them overcome the obstacles of poverty
- you will see how the benefits of education, nutrition, clothing, medical care or improved
housing can offer hope and assist families or individuals in their struggles for survival and
development.
Should you like to include a visit to a school in the Ocho Rios area to donate school
supplies, we will gladly make an additional stop to accommodate you. BBM supports Exchange
All Age School in their effort to nourish the young minds in the community we serve.

We kindly request a prepaid donation of US$100 for your Mission Awareness Familiarization Trip.
The requested amount is equivalent to the cost of hiring a driver for the 4 hour duration of the
tour and will be used to purchase nutritional grocery items to help combat the debilitating
malnutrition so prevalent in the poor. These items will be available for distribution to the various
families you will be visiting during your Mission Awareness trip.
Visit your sponsored friend
If you have sponsored children or aging friends, spending time with your sponsored friend(s) is an
incredibly enriching experience. You will witness firsthand how your sponsorship has enriched
their lives, which will in turn enrich yours. You will receive the smiles, love and gratitude of your
sponsored children and aging friends.
A mini mission trip and vacation combined
A BBM Vacation With A Purpose Trip gives you the opportunity to combine a Missions Awareness
Trip as detailed above with volunteering for a few days on one of our projects as well as
affording a few days vacation to explore all the beauty and wonder of Ocho Rios.
Please see our Short Term Mission Volunteer information for more details on available projects.
BEWARE: short-term mission work is very contagious. Your life will be forever changed.

Spectaular waterfalls, sunkissed turquoise waters hugging incredible white sand beaches, majestic
mountains, Blue Mountain coffee, Bob Marley, Reggae Music, Red Stripe Beer, and a multitude of
world class hotels, great and small, have all combined to earn Jamaica the status and reputation
as a tourist mecca.
Less known is the fact that 17% of Jamaica's population of 2.75 million people live below the
poverty line.
