We just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at The Blue House Bed and Breakfast Villa in
Ocho Rios Jamaica. It was punctuated by great hospitality and personalized care. The entire villa
staff did a tremendous job in meeting our every need -- excellent food, service, accommodations.

| "Truly Deserving Of #1 Rating on Tripadvisor.com Ocho Rios Jamaica Bed and Breakfast" Our stay at The Blue House Luxury Bed and Breakfast Villa in Ocho Rios Jamaica was in one word SUPERB. Found on Trip Advisor, then soon established an email relationship with property manager. Seemed very promising . . . what an understatement of what was to come; from the moment of being picked up in Montego Bay to four and a half days later when we were dropped off at the airport. We took the tour and full meal packages as well as the luxury suite . . . worth every penny and then some! High points . . . intuitive hosts, fantastic food, extremely comfortable accomodations with great ambiance. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all at The Blue House. Ann, Vancouver “Paradies Gesucht Und Gefunden” Das gasthaus war ein absoluter traum. unsere gastgeber, allen voran die immerzu aufmerksame und absolut gastfreundliche elise, sowie ihr hervorragend kochender bruder darryl und deren entzückende mutter gloria haben unseren 14tägigen urlaub extrem versüsst. wir, meine freundin und ich, haben ein wunderbares gasthaus mit grossen, sauberen und mit liebe zum detail hergerichtete zimmer vorgefunden. wir waren zunächst im "sancturyroom", für die letzten 5 tage bekamen wir einfach so ein upgrade zum "luxuryroom". die betten in beiden zimmern waren grandios das bad im zweiten zimmer war weltklasse.der ausblick vom balkon des hauses über die grüne landschaft ist das geld allein schon wert. die lage des hauses ist nicht im zentrum des ortes, mit dem taxi oder mietwagen oder aber auch mit dem geliehenen wagen von elise (vielen dank nochmal, haben sowas noch nie erlebt) ist man innerhalb von 5 minuten dort. dieser platz ist ein idealer ausgangspunkt für trips in die nahe umgebung, aber auch als startplatz für reisen durchs ganze land. das essen ist absolut empfehlenswert, frühstück ist immer inklusive und man bekommt es täglich wann man will. das abendessen kann man dazubuchen muss man aber nicht und kann es trotzdem für den nächsten tag bestellen, wenn man weiss, das man an diesem tag "zuhause" essen will . selbst ganz kurzfristig bekommt man etwas zu essen. die flexiblität unserer gastgeber war einfach sensationell. man kann bzgl. des essens seine wünsche äussern, wir waren neugierig und haben vor allem typisch jamaicanisch probiert. das einheimische frühstück ist eher salzig und machmal deftig, wer das nicht so mag kann auch toast mit marmelade und rührei oder so bestellen. am pool kann man wunderbar entspannen und es gibt niemals einen liegenkrieg zwischen den gästen, es ist so als hätte man einen privatpool. wer lieber ans meer möchte kann zum nahegelegen und naturbelassen reggaebeach, dem unserer meinung nach schönsten strand, von allen die wir gesehen haben. durch elise und ihrer familie, war es uns möglich einen einblick in das jamaicanische leben zu bekommen. geschichten zu land und leben, tipps zu trips und ein gemeinsamer 2-tages- ausflug mit elise und gloria nach treasure beach haben uns jamaicas "way of life" sehr nahe gebracht. wer 5 sterne all inclusive hotels genauso wenig mag wie wir, sollte unbedingt im 6 sterne gasthaus "the blue house" residieren, ob als zwischenstation oder als dauerbleibe. es lohnt sich. vielen dank nochmal für die wundervolle zeit. My wife and I and our 2 young children stayed at the Blue House for a weekend while we were in Jamaica for 10 days. From the time we arrived we truly enjoyed the Blue House and it was like home from home. The hospitality and kindness of Elise and Darryl was fantastic. They looked after us so well and our children were particularly relaxed and at ease at the Blue House. Although it is a bed and breakfast we found it had a real relaxed and family feel to it. The room we occupied was the sanctuary in the main house and it was great. It was a good size. We all managed to fit in with a travel cot and it worked perfectly. Showers and bath facilities were good. Food was fantastic. Loved having breakfast outside every morning. We all ate from the Jamaican menu (even the children) and enjoyed every meal. The thought put into the hospitality was fantastic. We were taken and shown around some fantastic local beaches by Elise and had a wonderful trip to the local white river which was so refreshing to swim in. Elise even took us along to the local shops. The Blue House was pleasant, flexible, relaxed and so kind to us, escpecially with our 2 active young children. We will definitely be visiting there again and would happily recommend our family and friends to visit The Blue House. Stefan and Jackie Brown UK “A True Jamaican Hideaway...” My wife and I stayed at the Blue House in August 2007. Unfortunately our stay was interrupted by Hurricane Dean, however we enjoyed ourselves immensely in the time that we were there. The house is located in a secluded residential neighborhood that is near most major attractions. The surroundings are lush, with flowers and tropical plants covering the well-kept grounds. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and it overlooked the pool. We woke up each morning to a traditional Jamaican breakfast (included in the room price) on a small veranda with a view of the rolling hills nearby (we would strongly suggest eating in for dinner as well - the food was more Continental but equally as good). The owners were pleasant and very attentive, and most of all took pride in showing us true Jamaica. If you prefer to be among the locals when you travel (rather than other tourists) and are open to experiencing different cultures and customs, this is the place for you. Kick Ass food !!" To keep this brief, I completely enjoyed my stay at The Blue House Bed and Breakfast and will return there soon. The house and furnishings are tasteful and clean. The neighbourhood is a well located gem. Close to activities but secluded enough for privacy. Daryl, Elyse, and their mom were great hosts. Please take them up on their offer to prepare some meals other than the supplied breakfast. The food and service will rival and surpass anything you can find at local restaurants. Honesdale, PA “Absolutly Perfect” the Blue House and we are so pleased that we decided to stay there rather than at any of the big all inclusive hotels. The house is beautiful, simple and elegant. We were the only guests at the time, so we had the whole place and the pool to ourselves which was great. Elise and her family are sweet, attentive, wonderful hosts who love to welcome people to Jamaica and were happy to answer all our questions. They pointed us towards the best beaches (Reggae beach), best restaurants (a place called Scotchies with the most delicious jerk chicken and pork you will ever have), best experiences (water fall climbing). We rented our own car so it was easy to move around and explore, but Elise said they would help us with transportation if we had decided not to rent. We also wondered into and checked out a couple of the local all inclusive resorts and were reassured with the fact that we were staying at the nicest place around! Make sure you have dinner at the home at least once, as the food is very very good. And try out the Jamaican breakfast at least once. All in all, a great experience for first time visitors to Jamaica! Amy & Shamim New York “A Threepeat Guest” After I could not find a resort in Ocho Rios, I booked the Blue House for a weekend for my family. My wife was horrified as she absolutely hates B&B's. The best recommendation is that she loved the Blue House and wants to go back. Even my kids (11 and 9) preferred the Blue House to Beaches Boscobel where we had stayed a couple of months previously. I agree with all the positive comments made by other Trip Advisor members and I have since stayed at the Blue House twice more when traveling on business. I really like how seamlessly Elise adjusted to my differing needs as a business and leisure traveler. During my most recent visit I mentioned to Elise that I had found out my cholesterol was too high and that evening Darryl prepared a special low-fat meal for me, different from that enjoyed by the other guests. As I wanted breakfast at 7am the next morning I told Elise that cereal and toast would be fine. However, not only did I have the bowl of the best oatmeal I have ever tasted, but I was given an egg white omlette too. I consider the Blue House my home away from home in Ocho Rios. I will probably try to rearrange any meetings in Ochie if there is no room at this inn the next time I am due to go there. Nick Kingston, South Africa and Canada “Hospitality At Its Best” My wife and I recently returned from Jamaica where we spent two nights at The Blue House. We had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Upper Room with its soothing colors, comfortable bed and attractive decor. We enjoyed the warm hospitality of our hosts and their staff, the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere of the home and the sumptuous, mouth-watering meals prepared by Darryl. Many times we had to restrain ourselves from eating too fast. The Blue House is set among lush greenery, brightly colored flowers and a view of the hills. Everywhere you look, inside and out, there is beauty. Elise asked what we wanted to eat and could eat. We requested the traditional Jamaican menu, with some french toast for me, and gluten-free food for my wife. We appreciated all the attention to detail that she gave. The day we went to Dunn's River Falls, Elise went out of her way to borrow a wheelchair, because my wife has MS. She also offered to wheel my wife around and take pictures while I walked up the Falls. On our last day when the prearranged driver could not come, Darryl and Elise drove us to Kingston and Portmore to visit relatives. After that, they drove us to our final stop in Mandeville, over unfamiliar, narrow, winding roads in the dark and in the rain. They were so kind and did not complain about the trip. This deepened our respect and admiration for them. Our stay at The Blue House was memorable and we miss it already and plan to go back. Elise said that "visiting there is like visiting your favorite auntie," and we totally agree. We encourage anyone to visit The Blue House and experience hospitality at its best. Psalm 97:1 "Fantastic Ochos Rios Bed and Breakfast" On my last visit to Jamaica, I toured The Blue House Bed and Breakfast, and I must say, I liked what I saw. The accommodations were spacious and fabulously decorated. Each awash with colors pleasing to the eyes, and soothing to mind. My favorite, was the stroll through the garden. All I can say is, "heavenly". The atmosphere at the Blue House Bed and Breakfast Villa, was friendly, and entertaining. 'The Barefoot Chef', had my palate working overtime. After having my fill, I sat around and had great conversations, with the owners, about Jamaica, and business opportunities on the Island. | A Tripadvisor.com Review "A Week Living Like Royalty" We recently spent a week at the Blue House Bed and Breakfast Villa in Ocho Rios Jamaica and had a wonderful experience. Elise was a gracious and attentive hostess who met our every request, with a smile. She is a real pleasure to be around. Chef Darryl provided food you would expect to find only in the finest restaurants and we were treated to many wonderful traditional Jamaican dishes. If you want to experience authentic Jamaican hospitality and cuisine, The Blue House is where you want to be. The Blue House Luxury Bed and Breakfast Villa is beautiful and with only 4 rooms it has an intimate feel. The decor is tasteful, colorful and creates a fantastic ambieance. We stayed in the Luxury Suite that has an amazing shower that offered a view of the rain forest. We took advantage of the all- inclusive package and it was well worth it. Each meal was an amazing culinary experience, which left us wanting for more. The owners and staff were very accommodating. We were treated like old friends, as opposed to just another guest. We pampered ourselves with in-room massages while at The Blue House. You don’t want to miss Dunn’s River Falls, Coyaba River Garden and White River tubing while in Ocho Rios. Our two night stay was exactly as we imagined and the food and wine excellent. The Blue House experience is different to a hotel, but service to a high standard, with that personal touch. The Upper room was well equipped and comfortable, with a great bathroom. We enjoyed a day relaxing by the secluded pool, and Elise was always on hand if we needed anything. Mark and Joanne, UK “Exceeds Excellent- Loved It!!!!!” My boyfriend & I just stayed at The Blue House (we stayed in the cottage) and were completely BLOWN AWAY at how excellent everything was. We just returned from the best week-end getaway (Nov 9-12, 2007) and fell in love with Elise & Daryl (the owners) and her amazing mum (Gloria). The location of the cottage/B&B was in an excellent area of Ocho Rios (right across the street from Couple San Souci) so you did not have the choas and madness of staying in the direct city. Plus the beach was 5 minutes away and one of the best beaches in Ocho Rios....its actually called Reggae Beach - how cool is that!!! The food (we had breakfast daily) was so authentic Jamaican, tasty and yummy, the accomodations were FIRST CLASS and simply wonderful - very tasteful..I liken it simple rustic elegance.!!!!! I WOULD LOVE ELISE TO COME DECORATE MY PLACE ANYDAY!! The decor was just a joy to see as you could tell that someone put a lot of thought & love into picking out each piece of ornament/item for the cottage. The gardens were lush and gorgeous.....little Garden of Eden! There was one day when it rain and we hung out i the main house and we had the best time - on a rainy day in paradise. The main house looks like a typical Jamaican residential beach house (they do exist a lot on the coastal areas), so all the rooms were large, spacious and tasteful. I said to Elise and I will say it here again....I am a New Yorker and my boyfriend South African...and we travel a bit.....at least once every 2 months for a get a way from our work...we have stayed in Hilton, Inter-Cintinental, Sandals, Couples, Ritz Carlton, Westin, Superclubs, Club Med & RIU hotels..and can I tell you that this small little cottage w/B&B in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, SURPASSED any of our stays at any of the mentioned. It was like staying at the ultra ritzy Island Outpost Resort group (look them up to see my point) for a fraction of the cost. WE HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE AT THE BLUE HOUSE FOR A REASONABLE MINIMAL COST. So, that being said, we actually cancelled our trip to Varadero, Cuba for New Years Eve and just booked with Elise & The Blue House for NY Eve 2007!.
